Jaeger-LeCoultre’s New Dazzling Rendez-Vous Night & Day In Green
Jaeger-LeCoultre unveiled a new Rendez-Vous Dazzling Night & Day with a green dial that the luxury Swiss watch brand says is inspired by the nature that surrounds its headquarters in the Vall?e de Joux countryside near the French border.
The 36mm pink gold case houses a deep rich green sunray-brushed dial complemented by a green alligator strap. On the bezel, 108 diamonds form two concentric rings. A total of 36 diamonds on the outer ring are larger and use a classic claw setting. It complements an inner circle of the bezel of smaller round diamonds. Completing the case is an inverted diamond set into the winding crown and three diamonds are set on each of the four lugs.
On the dial a pink gold crescent moon with a backdrop of stars alternates with a polished golden sun. They both rotate on a disc moving every 24 hours changing from night to day. Another row of diamonds is located in the inner circle of the dial. All together the watch has a total of 168 diamond weighing 3.43 carats.
Signature elements of the Rendez-Vous have been refined and updated. Hour markers consists of applied Arabic numerals in the emblematic floral style of the collection and polished golden hemispheres.
The watch is powered by the Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 898 automatic movement with a 38-hour power reserve. The exhibition sapphire caseback reveals some of the fine decoration and finishing in classic watchmaking style. These details include blued screws, circular graining on the wheels, C?tes de Gen?ve finish on the plates and an open-worked pink gold winding rotor. The watch is water-resistant to 5 bar. Not that there will be a need to ever go that deep with this watch, but it does show the skill and care that went into crafting this timepiece.
The Rendez-Vous collection was launched in 2012 and is defined by nature-inspired designs and the use of precious stones as well as in-house automatic movements with a sapphire caseback that reveals the watch’s technical complexity and delicately crafted finishing touches.
