depressing. this is not new and has been part of the conman's bag of tricks throughout the ages. disturbing to see it deployed by 'respectable' companies. this is one of the reasons I work on VRM and Mine!

this is what happens when people take a concept, misapply it and other's argue with it. what is described as user-driven here is this is NOT what I had in mind when I introduced the concept ages ago.

a remarkably unhinged rant by someone who ought to know better. scary that someone with high academic title can come across as badly argued, incoherent and political in the worst possible sense.

fascinating, even though hardly surprising. I think we are still looking for balance after giving in to the explosion of technological innovation. The answer is not to turn back or ignore it, but to find ways of subdueing it to other priorities.

sharing is always better than hoarding. I think it's a matter of finding a way to make money because of something, not with something, especially if that something is knowledge. Much harder to do when it is knowledge.

love this! poetic justice or just puncturing someone's position based on ignorance. gathering info about someone not illegal, companies, government and individuals do it all the time. problem with data ownership and sources, not with searching what's out there.
