fascinating aspect of Johnson & Johnson history. I especially like the account of different 'Panics', a term later changed into 'Depression' as less worrying! A company that survives all this pretty much intact must have the ability to 'reinvent' its approach from time to time – easier done if the purpose is clear and steady.
February VRM Hub meeting
The next VRM Hub meeting is on Thursday 26th February, 6-9pm at the same venue as the last month – GfK NOP building in Southwark, Room 15, 9th floor, Ludgate House, 245 Blackfriars Road, London SE1 9UL (map).
The topic will be further discussion of VRM – ideas, concepts, definitions, explanations etc, – a follow up on the game playing at the January session. Those who didn’t take part, do not fear, we have detailed notes on the results of January Game Playing.

pay what you think it's worth for your meal. contemplated this model ages ago, thought it would work, though not as simple as it may seem. review in the free londonpaper reports people pay more than list price. it turns the tables, pardon the pun, and let's customer pay on their own terms. scary. would like to see more of this, may become all the rage during the depression.

looks good. testing it

first comment on the post nails it. the marketer in this case is like a mafia henchmen doing the business's dirty work. in case you wondered, yes, I am biased against marketers. Stories like this should explain why.

interesting….

this is all very well but this wonderful screed about ownership vs renting forgets an important issue of the 'consumer' being a creator, producer and distributor. That brings in 'ownership' via back door or at least models based on recognition that demand and supply are not intertwined in ways previously unseen.

wonderful!
