Comcast must die
Filed Under Autonomy, Social web, Business
Bob Garfield in AdAge:
Is this company so frantic to seize market share on voice and broadband that it is willing to disrupt customers’ lives, fail to appear, repeatedly lie to them, walk out on them and then treat the customer as if he or she is a nuisance?
Well, we shall see. This is the Listenomics age. We will not take it quietly.

Comcast sent out two tech’s one supposedly trained and the other a trainee. They installed cable and internet to my travel trailer, that was on a Tuesday,on Saturday the cable and internet went out and stayed out all day and night. When I went out back to check the cable inlet it was red hot and I recieved blister’s on my finger’s on both hands trying to get it off the trailer before it caught on fire due to the extreme heat. I have contacted comcast and they sent someone out the next Tuesday, only to discover that all my inlet/outlets,cable booster and satelite connections were completely burned out as well as their equipment. He then unhooked all the equipment and took it with them. I took my trailer in to be inspected and all my cable is burned out and has to be replaced. The only way they can do that is to take off the siding and peel the roof back and then try to get it put back together looking the same and without the roof leaking. Just try to get someone from comcast on the phone I spent two days trying to get a damages report filled out. After bveing mysteriously disconnect three times filling out this report and having to speak with over 16 different people, I finally called Comcast Headquarters in PA, and did get to speak with the President’s Admin. Assistant, who finally got someone from the locale office in Shreveport La to call me. I am still a whole month later without any cable or internet with out anyway to watch tv at all, and am waiting for their insurance rep to cocme out and “take a look” at my trailer. I don’t know what it is they think they are going to see, because they say my claim is for sooooo much money I asked for between 2500.00 and 3000.00 for damages and my time and trouble two days in a motel and food for two days my money back for the cable and internet I donot have and then on top of it all i get another bill for this months cable and internet that I donot have UNBELEIVABLE!! These people have got to be stopped !!! All I want is my trailer fixed so I can get some kind of tv and internet service again. And this is a 2006 trailer not some trashy tailer trash trailer. AAAAHHHHHH !!!!!!

RE: Cable Bill Debt Dispute
I am disputing the debt from Comcast Cable Company of 99.75. The debt is not mine according to my record. I have included a spreadsheet documenting my efforts to contact Comcast Corporation about the bill that was sent to me in August 2007.
I can completely understand why Bob Garfield has created the blog site Comcastmustdie.com. I read the December 12, 2007 article in Advertising Age and I completely understand his feelings. I have gone beyond my responsiblitlities as a customer to try to notify Comcast their billing is screwy.
I would like to request a formal audit or investigation into Comcast Corporation and Credit Protection Association. I believe I have been billed fraudulently. My credit rating has suffered due to this fraudulent bill. I am notifying my attorney, the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, the Federal Communications Commission, and the US Attorney’s Office in Chicago, Illinois.
I never had Comcast Cable service for the month of August 2007. I moved August 1, 2007. I canceled my cable on July 28, 2007. I was billed for August / September bill by Comcast Corporation for 99.75. I am disputing this debt. Please note I am sending you this correspondence on December 21, 2007.
As I have provided your company and Comcast Cable with my personal information, this is a formal request not to contact my place of employment about this matter.
Thank you for your assistance with this matter.
