I had a wonderful time at the NY geek dinner that was made possible thanks to David Parmet’s and BL Ochman’s help. The icing on the cake was the three bottles of Stormhoek wine, apparently the 3rd, 4th and 5th in the US. Beautifully fresh (in a wine sense) and chilled to perfection it was just what I needed in the sticky heat of New York late summer. Nod of thanks to Jason and Hugh, much appreciated.
After the dinner a gaggle of us proceeded to a bar across the road to have some margeritas. I could not get over the size of the cocktails as mine came in a pint-sized glass!
More details here, I am not making it up.
The bar closed rather early, about 10pm and so I proceeded walking in the direction of where I was staying with another survivor when we decided to do a bit of late night sight-seeing. To be continued…

Thank you for organizing a lovely evening – I (and I’m quite sure everyone) had a wonderful time.
So when’s the next one?
